Breaking

18 Aug

My nymph, my siren
My Nereid girl
Pearls collect on your breast, tremble
and break
tiny rivers running down my naiad’s plaster
alabaster
skin
your sandy voice, your limestone
smile
a million miles away, you gaze into your
looking-glass
enamored with the
beauty of your
petals
soft illustrious
faint feather velveteen
but you don’t see your
Echo
hiding
under the surface,
clinging to your rock
Echo.

The abalone lustre of your talons
and the whorling
malestrom in your
eyes
warm, and wicked
swallows me
and I don’t care
– the pinpricks up my vertebrae
scream my Nereid’s name
my river spirit
drowning in your Lorelei-song, song,
song
my soul
is impaled on your talons
Chaos
tastes like salt
and limestone.

Your unforgiving storm
Distant but her power quenches
thirst
and me clinging to a cloud, I
absorb the
lightning
into
myself
My sea-siren,
never release me.

You never see
the silence in my soul
waiting on you to
move to fill
its jade-blue
hollowcore
chasm,
Your rough edges scrape against
my paper skin
sanguine swirls into the
unobtrusive saltwater
swirls
tiny whorls
of me.

Me
Your moon,
Cold
Echo,
Looking-glass
the shore
my hands
longing breathe seafoam doting glass
in tidal-wave
rising
a waterfall, a mist
dew collecting on your satin breast
clinging to your rock…

you, a river running into me
a song of emptiness
My siren, my sea
